Method
The independent calculation is
performed by a physicist or dosimetrist using the standard TMR based
formalism using a reference calculation point from the treatment planning system
for each beam. Values of point dose, energy, feld size, effective depth,
SAD and wedge angle are entered from the RTP system. The program looks up values for the
TMR, Sc, Sp, WF, and OAR to calculate the MU for dose at the calculation point. It is given by: MU = D/(TMR x Sc x Sp x OAR x WF x inv2).
Acceptance criteria for plan vs calculation differences follows AAPM guidelines for MU calculations as outlined in Task Group Report 71 (2014).
