Biologically Effective Dose (BED) & Equivalent Fractionations

Reference fractionation
$\frac{\alpha}{\beta} =$ Gy
$d =$ Gy/fx
$n = $ fx
$BED =$ Gy
$EQ_2 =$

This BED radiobiological calculator is based on $\alpha/\beta$ ratio for tumors or organs at risk (ignoring growth kinetics). The surviving fraction in $n$ fractions for fraction dose $d$ is given by
$ SF_n = \left(e^{-\alpha d - \beta d^2}\right)^n = e^{-\alpha \cdot BED}$
$BED = n d \left(1 + \frac{d}{\alpha/\beta} \right)$.
A table of equivalent fractionation schemes which gives the same biologically effective dose is also created. Enter reference fractionation on the left.
